HENRIETTA SENIOR CITIZENS SERVICE
The Henrietta Senior Citizens Service of the Daughters of Charity
Community Services provides in-house meals, recreational and
educational activities in a day service and outreach activities and
meals on wheels for older people in the Dublin 1/7 north inner city
catchment area.
The Manager of Henrietta Senior Citizens role:

ANNUAL LEAVE: The annual leave for the position is **Apply on the
website** days, with an additional 2 service days which will be
scheduled in line with service needs.
_THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:_
* A minimum of 3 years experience working in services for older
persons,
* A relevant third-level qualification,
* Knowledge of HACCP implementation and monitoring or willingness to
attend training,
* A knowledge of relevant policy and best practice issues pertaining
to older persons and of the key agencies who work on behalf of older
persons,
* Experience in people management,
* Demonstrated drive and commitment to deliver the service in line
with emerging needs and best practice,
* Experience of organising group activities based on needs analysis,
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills,
* A flexible and responsive approach to addressing the support
requirements of older persons registered with the service,
* Excellent administration and budget management skills,
* Good IT and report writing skills,
* Ability to act calmly and professionally in emergencies, to work
under pressure and effectively manage the workload,
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and policy and the
incorporation/ implementation of both within the working environment,
* Ability to source funding for service and meet funder
requirements.

The Healthcare co-ordinator reports into the senior citizens manager
of the Daughters of Charity Community Services. The successful person
will ensure the highest standards of professional care and practice
are maintained at all times in the service, and that the ethos and
values of the service are adhered to in the development and delivery
of the service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Upholding the ethos of the Daughters of Charity Community Services
* Providing care to participants
* Outreach support
* Working as part of a team to support service
* Communicating the needs of participants
_THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE_
* Minimum QQI Level 5/Level 6 in Healthcare

* Specific experience of working with people with cognitive
impairment
* Educated to Certificate or equivalent
* Desirable but not essential level 3 in Dementia Awareness or other
Dementia specific training
* Knowledge of older person?s services and care planning
* Knowledge of the issues that the senior citizens may face at home
* Advocacy and knowledge of multidisciplinary team work
